About the Experience

As 2024 began to usher in 2025 a word started showing up repeatedly. It’s a word, a theme, a practice all in one.

to retrieve or recover (something previously lost, given, or paid); obtain the return of.

In honor of this word that seems to be asking to be my teacher, we RECLAIM…REST with this Yoga Nidra practice! Retrieving, recovering rest. Retrieving something previously lost, given or paid…yes, our relationship with rest. We’ve lost the lure of rest in our society. We’ve given in to the hustle. We’ve paid out our energy time and again. This month we welcome the return of the value, the right and the magic of rest!

Enjoy this guided meditation-style practice all month.

About Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra works with the autonomic nervous system to calm the sympathetic nervous system and allow the parasympathetic to take charge. Brain waves move from beta to alpha, theta and delta. As the brain changes, the physical body changes. Yoga asana, the active poses, aren’t suitable for everyone, but Yoga Nidra is a practice that almost anyone can do, from children to seniors. Yoga Nidra is done lying down or sitting in a comfortable chair, and can even be practiced lying in bed, while following a guiding voice.
