The next 30 Day Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation Challenge Begins June 5, 2024

What Is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra, also known as “yogic sleep,” is a potent practice that offers deep relaxation, mental clarity and emotional resilience. Yoga Nidra refers to a state of conscious, deep sleep, going beyond deep relaxation to a place of internal peace and quiet.

In today’s world of always on, who doesn’t need peace and quiet?

Most anyone can participate in Yoga Nidra as it’s traditionally done lying down or in a supported seat and utilizes guided relaxation, breathing techniques and imagery. A thirty minute Yoga Nidra practice is equal to about 2 hours of typical sleep. Think of it as your new afternoon coffee break or your “adulting nap.”

Truly, adulting never felt so good!

Imagine effortlessly slipping into a state of profound relaxation each day, allowing your mind to unwind and rejuvenate.

Easing Pain & Improving Sleep

I did my first Nidra class with Melissa a few months ago and found it very relaxing. After a few classes, I felt like my back pain was much better. Lately, I have been using the Nidra breathing exercises in bed each night and relax and fall asleep so much easier.

Self-Love

Practicing the Yoga Nidra from your class has increased my strength to continue to do my inner work of self-love. I was able to go inside in a safe way and just be there with observation. Your voice says to me: "I'm here. You are not alone. You are about to go on a journey into yourself. I can't join you, but I'll be here watching out for you."

My Personal Testimonial On A 30 Day Practice
In January of 2023, I embarked on a specialized Yoga Nidra teacher training certificate because I wanted to go deeper into this practice for myself and to share the wisdom. I did Yoga Nidra every day, sometimes more than once a day, for a month and the results were obvious. I slept better, I had more focus and was very productive that month and my creativity blossomed. Poems came to me from "nowhere" (I don't consider myself a poet), I spent a lot more time with my camera and generally felt more inspired and in the creative flow. This is such a wonderful way to begin a new phase or a new project!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Happens In Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra works with the autonomic nervous system to calm the sympathetic nervous system and allow the parasympathetic to take charge. Brain waves move from beta to alpha, theta and delta. As the brain changes, the physical body changes.

Is Yoga Nidra Different From Meditation?

Meditation can access Theta brainwaves while Yoga Nidra can access Delta waves responsible for the healing and restoration that happen in the body during deep sleep. Yoga Nidra also activates the pineal gland to release melatonin and synchronize circadian rhythms.

Who Is Yoga Nidra For?

Yoga asana, the active poses, aren’t suitable for everyone, but Yoga Nidra is a practice that almost anyone can do, from children to seniors. Yoga Nidra is done lying down or sitting in a comfortable chair, and can even be practiced lying in bed, while following a guiding voice.

  • Teenagers often embrace the Yoga Nidra practice and it can be beneficial for anxiety relief, mood balancing and managing stress.
  • Creatives…artists, writers, photographers, entrepreneurs, makers…can experience an increase in creative flow and inspiration.
  • If you have a lot of stress in work or life, Yoga Nidra will help calm the nervous system and provide tools for managing stress, burnout, anxiety and more.
  • If you live with chronic pain, temporary pain or sleep disorders Yoga Nidra can help with pain management and sleep regulation.
  • Embarking on a new life journey or trying to solve a problem or make decisions? Yoga Nidra quiets the thoughts and connects you with your intuition for deep listening and guidance.
  • Anyone interested in starting the New Year from a place of balance and commitment to self and health. I call it healthstyle and this is a great way to get there!
  • Manage a corporate team? Doing a challenge together with a specific project or problem statement in mind brings creative inspiration and improves problem-solving skills. Not to mention the benefits of stress management and the connectivity as a team. Contact me for group pricing or to set up a private group program?

Why Should I Do Yoga Nidra For 30 Days?

I’m here to challenge you to embark on a wellness practice for 30 days and experience the powerful benefits. It takes 30-45 days to establish a habit, so this 30 day challenge will have you well on your way to establishing a transformative daily habit. And, Yoga Nidra, like any wellness activity, is a practice. The more you practice the deeper you go and the more you benefit since the effects are cumulative.

This is late/early for me. Do I need to have my camera on?

Camera is optional but we will have time to ask questions and share experiences so there are opportunities to be on camera if you’d like.

Do I Need To Attend Live?

No. All sessions will be recorded and available for up to 2 months. Yoga Nidra practice audios will be provided weekly for individual practice.

Do I Need To Have Experience With Yoga?

There are many ways to practice yoga! Yoga Asana are the poses you traditionally hear referred to as Yoga. We won’t be practicing Asana along this journey. You’ll experience guided meditation style practice and likely some gentle breath practice. You can sit or lie down for this practice.

Do I Need To Be An Experienced Meditator?

No experience necessary. Beginners welcome!

What Will I Learn From This Journey?

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Yoga Nidra through the lenses of the mystical teachings of yoga as well as the science-backed evidence of its benefits on whole being wellness
  • How Yoga Nidra facilitates wellness and a deeper connection with self from the perspectives of the yoga teachings, every day life and brain waves!
  • Connect with a Universal Truth, a Sankalpa, that personally resonates for you. This truth can be used during Yoga Nidra, meditation or any activity where you set an intention.

Move beyond New Year’s Resolutions and Word Of The Year to a deeply personal and inspiring truth that transports you back to who you truly are. Hellooooo magic!

If I Register For Early Bird Do I Get To Select My Notebook Image?

There will be one image selected for this 30 day journey. We’ll connect with the image during each live session and you’ll have an opportunity to connect with it throughout your practice with the notebook and mobile wallpaper. By the end of the 30 days, I hope you have a new relationship with the colors and beauty of the image and by simply looking at it, your body remembers the beautiful Yoga Nidra state of calm and flow! MORE magic!!!

When Will My Notebook Arrive?

Notebooks will be shipped at the end of December and should arrive before we begin on January 2 (holiday mail volume may delay delivery).
