Meet Melissa Anne

Her photography style has evolved over the years and seems to deeply reflect her yogic lifestyle. melissa anne COLORS Impressionist imagery from the Modern Coastal and Modern Landscape Collections evokes a sense of calm and wonder from viewers. There’s a softness in the imagery and a horizon line that naturally brings the nervous system into a calmer state. Often mistaken for paintings, these images are created in-camera with limited digital processing. They seem to capture constant, subtle movement all around us and “make the invisible visible.”

In 2019 Melissa Anne suffered a head injury and found her way to yoga. Yoga felt like a homecoming and brought a new dimension to her life. To deepen her practice she became a yoga teacher in 2022 and has completed basic hatha yoga teacher training as well as Raja Yoga (the study of the Yoga Sutras), Neuroscience and Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She currently practices and teaches on Bainbridge Island and online and brought her passions for photography and yoga together with the Art Of Wellness, immersive art and wellness practice recordings.

Melissa Anne is a photographer, yogi and nature lover. She spent over 15 years working in disaster response, has experienced personal traumas and is no stranger to living life with an unbalanced nervous system. Photography and other creative practices became an outlet for self-care and finding a sense of calm outside work days often filled with trauma, grief and loss. In 2008 she began to show her photography in galleries and shows in New York City, beginning with images from her Water Colors Collection, abstract photography from the bottoms of boats.

A lover of fashion and accessories since childhood, in 2018 she launched the designs to color life accessory line created from her Impressionist Photography. Striving for sustainability, most products are made-to-order, meaning reduced waste and carbon emissions. Fine art print paper is made from cotton remnants, photo blocks are made from sustainable bamboo and organic textiles are used when available. The COLORS muse is nature and it’s important to look for ways to improve how we live and do business and protect our resources.
