Description
Cotton Candy is from the Modern Coastal Collection of fine art Impressionist photography and was taken at sunrise on July 17, 2024 on Bainbridge Island. My beach morning began at 4:30 am and I could tell right away it was going to be magical! When I arrived at the beach the edges or clouds were already turning deep red/purple. The morning evolved with so much color and magical cloud textures and shapes. Amidst the peace and stillness of the early morning and the tide moving towards it’s lowest point of the day an energy was present. Herons came and went. Seals happily swam in the Puget Sound, peeking heads up to see what was happening above the water line…at times looking my way with this “You’re up early” vibe. A few deer even made their way onto the beach and strolled by to see the spectacle unfold.
I named this image Cotton Candy because my attention goes to the light pink clouds toward the center of the image. It reminds me of the cotton candy cones of my youth.
Fine Art Paper Prints
Prints are created using eco-friendly fine art paper and are mounted on archival white artboard, providing a firm surface to protect prints.
For my archival quality fine art paper I have chosen a cotton-based paper to help promote my goal of being eco-friendly. The cotton used to manufacture this paper is not from the puffy white flower that we all recognize as cotton, but rather the linters, or byproduct, from the textile industry. Textiles are made using the longest, highest-quality fibers – the rest is discarded. This wasted cotton is salvaged and used to manufacture this cotton paper. Nothing could be more eco-friendly than reusing a product that is considered waste and would all end up in the trash. Prints will stand the test of time and bring color and sanctuary to your wall.
NOW AVAILABLE! Framed print option features a white frame and anti-glare acrylic front.
