January 2025 Small Print Collector Series 8×12 Archival Print ~ Earthshine

$47.00$107.00

Earthshine is from sunrise during the Summer of 2024 on Bainbridge Island. A magical morning with the most delicious crescent moon I’ve ever seen. I have a “thing” about the crescent moon. Maybe it’s a sense of her resting, turning down the light, coming within or beginning to step out. I’d never seen a crescent moon glow in a way that you could still see the entirety of the moon, its darkness and its light. I still get all tingly when I look at this photo. I recently learned that there is a name for this! Earthshine is the faint glow that illuminates the unlit portion of the moon when sunlight reflects off the Earth and illuminates the moon’s surface.

And those mountain tops…the moon was fairly high in the sky on this day so I was only able to get the very tops of the peaks contrasting against the orange glow of the sun beginning it’s morning shine. Worth the early morning wake up to have these magical experiences with nature!

Earthshine can also be found on the February page of the melissa anne COLORS Art Of Wellness 2025 Calendar! More details on print options below.

Fine Art Paper Prints

Prints are created using eco-friendly fine art paper and are mounted on archival white artboard, providing a firm surface to protect prints.

For my archival quality fine art paper I have chosen a cotton-based paper to help promote my goal of being eco-friendly. The cotton used to manufacture this paper is not from the puffy white flower that we all recognize as cotton, but rather the linters, or byproduct, from the textile industry. Textiles are made using the longest, highest-quality fibers – the rest is discarded. This wasted cotton is salvaged and used to manufacture this cotton paper. Nothing could be more eco-friendly than reusing a product that is considered waste and would all end up in the trash. Prints will stand the test of time and bring color and sanctuary to your wall.

NOW AVAILABLE! Framed print option features my signature style white frame and anti-glare acrylic front.

Why do I frame in white? I frame in white because it gives my images a sense of space and freedom, allowing them (and the viewer) to breathe and feel expansive. The white border, paired with the white frame, creates a seamless transition, making the image appear weightless and infinite, as if it floats in its own realm, inviting the viewer to experience boundless nature.
