Love Letter To Amsterdam – Passions

December 20, 2015

My Dearest Amsterdam,

Over the last few days I’ve met some amazing people who are passionate about their new businesses! It’s always inspiring to connect with small business owners. Today I met passionate tea producer Edvina, owner of Lemon Poppy.

Love Letter To Amsterdam

DESIGN! What great packaging and design elements on this product.  And, the colors! My favorites!!

I sampled her Çaj Mali tea and it is as delightful as she is. The tea is full of iron and antioxidants so in addition to tasting good, it’s good for you.  Win Win!

I enjoyed her and her tea so much I bought several boxes to Christmas gift someone I love back in the US.  LUCKY loved one! Check out her website for more on the tea. All you do is pour some water over these beautiful blooms, let steep and drink.

Tasty, healthy and beautiful. What’s not to love?

Amsterdam, I love you for special gifts and inspiring women the world over who follow their passions!

Love Always,

Melissa

Color Comes A Knockin’….

I found a new favorite place in Seattle a few weeks ago. The Georgetown neighborhood reminds me of a little slice of DUMBO Brooklyn, a favorite place to play with my camera.

Georgetown is full of old warehouses turned artist lofts and creative business houses. Local restaurants give a fun and yummy urban experience after a long day of camera work.

Imagine my delight when I wandered into a parking lot and spied THIS color beauty!

When COLOR comes a knockin’…

Thank goodness it chose turquoise!

Oh, and more delight came when I chose to try Brass Tacks for post adventure dinner…

Expect more pics from this little enclave of creativity!

Color On!

Twisted Color

Life has been…well a little “twisted” lately. The Crisis Management professional side of my life sprung into full gear recently and the art side of life fell into the shadows a bit.

But, I’m back!

It’s all a balancing act.

Yin and yang.

Weave it all together.

And COLOR when you can!

Love that my “re-entry” with my camera this weekend delivered my favorite color…turquoise!!

Color it up this week!

Melissa

Dreams, Boats, and Jonathan Adler…

Maybe a strange combination….maybe not….A few of my favorite colorful inspirations for the week.

I discovered the colorfully talented Jessica Swift on Facebook this week.  I love her story and her big, colorful dreams!!  Check it out below and send her a little color love (in the form of green) if you can!  I’d like to wear these boots one day.  She’s a color diva after my own heart with secret messages hidden in the boots.  I had a similar, yet very different, idea for my pillow line.  THAT you’ll have to wait for…

I saw this awesomely whimsical, right up my alley harbor decor idea on Apartment Therapy this week.  LOVE IT!  The big question for me….does the inside show…or the BOTTOM?  I have the perfect boat in mind for my ceiling.  I can find it on Martha’s Vineyard!

A favorite boat on Martha's Vineyard!

Jonathan Adler has a new limited edition furniture collection.  I’ll take these two for my next home office.  Punctuate with some orange accents (like an orange Moroccan pouf…also available from Jonathan Adler) and my creative life will be completely fulfilled!

And finally, this is definitely my favorite color of the week. This wall paint has my name written ALL over it! HEAVENLY!

House To Home

Interestingly enough, they would all go nicely in a house together.  THAT was a coincidence.

I hope you are having a colorful week and are finding your color inspiration in the world around you!
